On whip finishing tools.

Posted by Steve Galea at

This week, I sold my last Matarelli whip finisher -- and I won't be getting more. Those fine stainless steel tools will soon help finish countless flies tied by presumably meticulous tyers -- folks who know quality when they see it.  Now it's time to promote a new classic in whip finishing tools.

I've tried a bunch and, for my money, there are few more practical and nicer to use than the Griffin rotating whip finishing tool.  They are not as exquisite or finely built as a Matarelli but they are handy and really nice on small flies.  If you're looking for a quality whip finishing tool at a decent price, these are hard to beat.
