Thus far, this blog has been about fish, flies and materials. All that stuff is of great interest to most fly anglers. But the truth of it is we're more attracted to those quiet places where fishing is almost secondary to our surroundings. This photo shows one such place I visited this spring with a friend, having portaged that canoe and our two packs about a kilometre in total to get to this fine brook trout water, three lakes back.
We camped there for two days, caught quite a few nice brook trout and generally had a good time. It was a trip I'll always remember and one I'll do again next year. Here's hoping all of you have places and experiences like this.
