Black-nosed dace - one more time.

Posted by Steve Galea at

This streamer has been the subject of a previous post and, somewhere down the line, I suppose it will the subject of more. The black-nosed dace is a classic that just catches fish. Plus, I really enjoy the simple elegance of the Art Flick pattern. Keep a couple or more in your streamer box. Use them often. You'll see what I'm talking about.

The recipe is:

Hook: Streamer hook of your choice. 3X length minimum.

Thread: Black 6/0 or finer.

Tag: Red wool

Body: Silver mylar tinsel. I also reinforce with silver wire.

WIng: White bucktail, black bear hair, brown (or natural brown) bucktail in that order
