Stephen Procter is a talented fly tyer. All you need to do is look at this Silver Claret Palmered Wet fly to confirm that. He tied it with beautiful proportions, a compact and neat head and that special something that makes a fly look like as if it will slay fish.

The recipe is as follows:
Hook:1X-Short,heavy wire wet fly
Thread:Black 8/0 / 70 den.
Rib:Silver oval tinsel
Tail:Golden pheasant crest,dyed red
Body:Silver mylar tinsel
Body hackle: Spencer's dyed claret rooster saddle hackle
Front hackle:Silver badger Brahma hen neck hackle.
