My friend Bob and I went brook trout fishing in Algonquin Provincial Park last Thursday and we had a great day. The water was wadable, the fish were biting and each of us was on our game. This was one of the biggest brook trout of the day, measuring around 16 inches. Two others approached that size and another 17 fish were somewhere between 10 and 12 inches. It was the first time I got to use a 30-foot French leader and Frenchie nymph in water they were designed for and, I must say, it was a deadly technique.
