Double barrel topwater frog

I was playing around with a sample product that I have just been given and I have to say I like it. The product is The Flymen Fishing Company's Surface Seaducer Double-barrel Popper and Slider body as well as the matching eyes and hook. I'm pretty sure I'll be stocking these things before bass season arrives. Let me know if this product appeals to you. I should note that I coloured the white head. Someone more artistic could have done a much better job.

Tap's Bug

Here's one of several Tap's bugs I tied. If you like fishing top water for bass with a fly rod, you could do a whole lot worse than using this bug. It's a no frills popper that works like a charm. It was made famous by the renowned outdoors writer, Tap Tapply.  It's a wonderfully simple design that does the job. The recipe is simple: Thread: Strong thread 3/0 or Nano-silk Hook: Bass hook Tail: Buck tail of appropriate colour Body: Deer body hair of appropriate colour(s) clipped to shape
